International Math Storytelling Day

Elite English School celebrated International Math Storytelling Day on September 25, 2024, with great enthusiasm and creativity. The event aimed to blend the world of mathematics with the art of storytelling, providing students a platform to showcase their understanding of mathematical concepts through engaging narratives.

The special Assembly conducted by the students included a skit, songs on Math and poetry. Contributions of UAE Mathematicians also were shared with the students.

The presence of parents for the special assembly added value to the event, making it a truly collaborative effort.

Some of our parents volunteered to read out interesting Math stories to our students. The parents came prepared and did a fantastic job of enthusing the students. It was a welcome change for the parents to be storytellers. Stories like The Greedy triangle, One Grain of Rice and Pizza, The concept of zero, etc,  helped students see the real life application of Math in the simplest of ways.

Students engaged in riddles, quizzes and hands-on activities later in the day,  for better conceptual understanding.

International Math Storytelling Day at Elite English School was a resounding success, filled with enthusiasm and learning, as it involved all the stakeholders’ participation. The event not only highlighted the creative potential of the students but also reinforced the idea that Math can be fun and engaging when integrated with storytelling. This celebration marked a wonderful opportunity for the school community to come together and celebrate the joy of learning through stories.
